Pat was the eldest child of 14 children of the Corona family. She helped to raise her brothers and sisters by learning to cook large meals, making tortillas and cleaning up after her younger siblings. Her Godmother had a small cafe in which, Pat would play the piano at a young age in Grants. From this experience grew her great love of music. Her favorite artists were Bette Midler, Linda Ronstadt, and her favorite, Pepe Aguilar. When she had a family of her own, she would pass her experiences and special interests on to them, such as, the art of cooking to her daughters. Her family's favorite things for her to cook were macaroni and cheese, and Mexican favorites such as enchildas, nopales, "capirotada" and tamales. Probably due to her upbringing and the great responsibility placed on her at a young age, Pat was thrifty, sensible and a person who believed in savings. One of her favorite sayings was, "Anybody can make a lot of money, but the important thing is to save it!"
She would raise her beautiful family with her dear husband of 56 years, Fidel. Her family considered her to be their rock. She was their source of wisdom, and a good listener without judging. She was reserved but loving, sensitive with a quiet confidence. In summary, she was small in stature; but strong in character.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Fidel and her loving son, Daniel, and three sisters, Isabel, Clorinda, and Carmen.
Pat will be greatly missed but forever loved by her children; Helen, Erlinda and Michele (husband, Jon). Cherishing their memories of her will be her ten brothers and sisters; Diana, Tillie, Tudy, Josephine, Mary, George, Dan, Marty, Jesus and Joseph. She will be forever remembered and loved by her grandchildren, Yvonne, Lydia, Adrian, Andrea, Tracy, Lorraine, Raquel, Roxanne, Julie and Daniel Jr. and her 14 great grandchildren.
Petrita, "Pat" Senteno touched many lives and will be truly missed by a host of extended family members and friends and all those who were honored to know her and who loved her.
