

Phyllis Bonacum of Hemet, CA passed away peacefully on January 13, 2015. She was born October 14, 1943 in New York where she grew up and lived until 1979. Phyllis was married January 2, 1970 to William Francis Bonacum in New York. During their life there, both she and her husband became involved with their local fire department and are honorary members of the Vulcan Fire Department Auxiliary. In 1979, Phyllis and William moved to California with their two children. She became employed with the phone company and retired from SBC in 1998.
She enjoyed swimming (especially at the beach), dancing, scrapbooking, crocheting and needlepoint to help pass the time in between building memories with her family and many friends. After retiring she also participated in various card groups, played bunco and volunteered at Ramona Elementary where she was a special reader for kindergarten and first grade children as they celebrated Dr. Seuss birthday. She also loved to camp and travel and was able to visit most of the places she dreamed about.
Phyllis leaves behind her mother, Felicia Berrios, her husband William Bonacum, a daughter Stacy-Ann and her husband Douglas, a son, Gene, four grandchildren and two brothers, Robert and his wife Andi and Gene David and his wife Fran. A private Celebration of Life ceremony will be held on January 24, 2015.
