

He was born on Friday, November 4, 1938 in San Antonio, Texas to his late parents, Crestino and Cecilia Esparza. Raul went on to marry the love of his life, Mary Esparza and they were married for 61 wonderful years. Together, Raul and Mary raised six beautiful children. Raul was both a devoted husband and father. He was also a hard worker and spent 15 years working as a spray painter for the water department.
Raul was a sports enthusiast and when he wasn't busy working, Raul was coaching his sons' sport teams or cheering on his daughters at their sporting events. You could also find Raul cheering on his Dodgers or Rams during their seasons. Boxing was another favorite sport that Raul loved to watch and participate in. Raul was always challenging the neighborhood kids to boxing matches.
In addition, Raul was a car fanatic and loved going to car shows; he even would restore his own cars to show off at the car events. Music was a also a huge part of Raul's life. In fact, Raul loved burning CDs and playing the guitar. In his spare time, Raul enjoyed wood working and landscaping, he was truly a jack of all trades.
He is survived by wife, Mary Esparza, daughter, Toni Lee Dayton, daughter Cecilia (Pete) Lopez, Son, Raul (Shirley) Esparza, Jr., daughter, Elena Raridon, Son, Rick (Janice) Esparza, daughters, Emily (Vince) Freeman and Teresa Esparza, brothers, David (Aurora) Esparza, Danny (Theresa) Esparza, Crestino (Rosie) Esparza, sister, Lidia (Salvador) Garcia; 17 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren.
