

Rebecca Sue “Beki” Erb , beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Aunt and Friend, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 2, 2019 at 3:37 pm, at the age of 84. Beki was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on September 24, 1934 to Dan Jones Harris and Virgia Mae Ophelia (Crow) Harris, both of Arkansas. When Beki was a baby, she and her family moved to California. Beki was one determined young lady. She accomplished much at an early age. She was titled “The Youngest Lady Magician in the World” by the time she was 12 years of age. Beki was performing for many audiences at various venues throughout California. As a young entertainer, Beki was given the exciting opportunity to be the opening act for entertainers such as Danny Thomas and Van Johnson. In time, she would be a guest attending a company New Year’s Eve party where she would meet the love of her life Richard Dale Erb. The night they met, Dale informed Beki that he would be marrying her! He didn’t ask, he told! She laughed and said, “Oh, is that right?” He said, “Yes it is!” In a very short time the two were married and began a wonderful life together, raising their 4 children primarily in Whittier and Westminster California.
Many of Beki’s additional accomplishments include; being a very young and successful saleswoman for Vivian Woodard Cosmetics, music director for The Mother Singers of America, home health director for Homemakers Upjohn, Mayor Pro Per, but most importantly her service for the Lord in many aspects of ministry. Beki was one of the first to volunteer her services when a need was expressed. She held many positions throughout her Christian ministry and service. She served as church choir director, secretary, treasurer, deaconess, wedding hostess, Sunday School teacher ,youth counselor, choir member and counselor for The Billy Graham Crusade Ministries in the 1960’s, directed several Christian musicals and plays, and Beki was actively involved with the Conservative Baptist Association, Women’s Ministries for many years.
Beki retired in the late 1980’s as co-owner of The Windmill Art Gallery, home of The Carrousel Artists, with her husband Dale. She continued to paint and teach until 2009. Beki enjoyed a variety of hobbies and interests including painting, singing, cooking, reading, camping, fishing, art and crafts, bible study, serving others in many capacities, traveling the United States and abroad, meeting new people, and above all, sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Beki is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Richard Dale Erb ( 2005), her son Robert B.Erb ( 1985), Her Father Dan J. Harris, Mother Virgia Harris, Brothers John M. Harris, George E. “Buddy” Harris, Dougan Harris and Sister Virginia M. “Jenny” ( Harris) Hudson.
Beki is survived by her son John Erb, and his wife Deborah of Medina, MN, son David Erb and his wife Judy of Sante Fe Springs, CA, daughter Beri Jo-Erb “Jodi” True and her husband Arthur of Menifee, CA. 13 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and many dear friends.
