Richard Douglas Bissell passed away on February 19, 2018, in Hemet, California at the age of 83 years old. He was born on April 16, 1934 in Inglewood, California to Ray and Vera Bissell. Richard was a Native Californian spending his childhood on the family ranch in Norco, California, and attended Corona High School. At the age of 17 he enlisted in the US Navy serving on the USS Walker as a cook during the Korean War. After an honorable discharge in 1955 he married his one and only love Sandra Lee da Silva in Las Vegas, Nevada on May 24, 1955. They had three children who they raised in Corona, California. Richard joined the US Post Office as a letter carrier and worked in Riverside and Corona post offices until he retired. He holds a Lifetime Membership in the National Association of Letter Carriers. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years Sandra Lee Bissell, their three children, Lisa Rae (Wes) Pawlowski in Rapid City, South Dakota, Marla Kay Bissell in Temecula, California, and Scott (Bonnie) Bissell in Ironwood, Michigan. Also 7 grandchildren and 6 Great-Grandchildren, brother Ray (Agnes) Bissell in Redding, California.
