Born on January 25, 1926, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, he grew up in Omaha,
Nebraska, and earned his college degree at Iowa State University.
Richard married Betty Marshall on November 13, 1965. He worked many
years in computer engineering at Baker Oil Tools in Los Angeles and
CalComp in Anaheim.
He was a member of the Kamping Kangaroos and King of the Road camping
clubs. He enjoyed fishing and gardening, but in his later years, he
mostly looked forward to Wednesday nights, playing dominoes with some of
his close friends.
Richard is survived by five children: Laurence Gibbs, Roger Marshall
(Trini), Barbara Lichten (Steve), Marcia Ball (Ken), and Brian Gibbs,
ten grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
Services were held at Miller-Jones Mortuary in Perris. He will be laid to
rest next to his wife of 35 years at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier
