Richie Leon Gerwin, born on August 11, 1950, in California, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2025, at the age of 75. A lifelong Californian, Richie made his home in Hemet, where he spent his later years surrounded by the familiar comforts of family, friendship, and community.
He was a loving and devoted son to Henry and Bonnie Gerwin, whose guidance and affection shaped the man he became. Richie shared a deep bond with his siblings—his sisters, Renee Calhoun and Rhonda Vaughan, and his brother, Ron Gerwin. Their relationships were filled with loyalty, shared laughter, and memories that spanned a lifetime.
Richie was a proud father, and he held his children close to his heart: Brandon, Rachelle, and his son Christopher, who preceded him in death. He also shared a meaningful chapter of his life with the mother of his children, Danielle Young.
In his earlier years, Richie worked in the motion picture industry as a Grip, a job that allowed him to be part of a world he found fascinating. Beyond his work, Richie had a creative soul. He loved writing poetry, often putting his thoughts and emotions into words that reflected the depth of his spirit and the tenderness of his heart.
Richie’s warmth, gentle nature, and creative spark will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Though he is no longer with us, the love he shared and the memories he leaves behind will continue to brighten the lives of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
