Robert Francis McCoy passed away at the age of 82, on Thursday, July 14, 2022, in Hemet, California. He was born to Elmer Bernerd McCoy and Mildred Irene (Helm) McCoy, on Sunday, February 11, 1940, in Rochester, New York and he was one of 9 children.
Robert served in the US Military from 1957- 1965 in the branches of the US Navy, US Air Force and US Army Reserves and was honorably discharged from each of the branches. In civilian life, while balancing a career as a Computer Programmer, Robert was also an amazing husband and dedicated father. Robert was married for 60 wonderful years to the love of his life and his best friend, Cathaleen Chrystal McCoy. They were blessed with five children that would later make Robert a grandfather as well. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching sports, playing nickel Keno, Westerns, War Movies and spending time with family and friends. Robert was a hardworking, strong and truly unforgettable man who served as a pillar of strength for others. His love for his family was beyond measure. He will forever be loved and truly missed.
Robert is survived by his loving wife, Cathaleen McCoy; his children, Christine Harris, Karen Nieto, Edward McCoy, Penny Rolland and Alan McCoy, 16 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
A committal service is planned October 14th at Riverside National Cemetery.
