Robert Emery Ranker

Robert was born Wednesday, May 2, 1923 in Alahambra, Ca. to the late Jess Ranker and Sallie Ranker. Robert graduated from Alhambra High School and soon after joined the military.

He served as a Corporal in the Marine Corps from 1943 until 1946 during World War II. In 1944 he married his high school sweet heart and together they shared 68 years.

Robert lived in the valley for 53 years, and was the owner of The Valley Hi Mobile Park in San Jacinto. He also helped form the Sunsetters Golf Club in Seven Hills. He was very active in the community and was a member of The Elks, The Lions Club, and chairman of the planning commission for San Jacinto. Robert enjoyed traveling, playing golf, dancing, skiing, swimming, and surfing. More than anything, Robert enjoyed spending time with his family.

Robert is survived by his beloved wife; Joet, sons; Robert (Patricia) Ranker, Craig (Lynette) Ranker, five grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.

A Graveside service will be at 11:30 AM on Thursday, September 13, 2012 at Riverside National Cemetery located at 22495 Van Buren Boulevard Riverside, California 92518, in staging area #3.
