We are at peace knowing that his long battle with C.O.P.D. (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) is over and he is breathing freely, without pain.
Mo is survived by his wife of 33 years, Nora; son and daughter-in-law, Eric and Maye Morris of Temecula; brother and sister-in-law, Ken and Pat Morris of Grass Valley; sister, Cherilee of Santa Cruz; and a host of family and friends he loved and adored.
Mo was born February 19, 1949 in Long Beach, California. He was the youngest of 'Jack' and Helen Morris' children. He didn't care much for school but was never afraid of work. He started his career working as a Civil Servant at the Long Beach Naval Shipyard. After a reduction in force he left the shipyard and in 1972 he was hired at the El Toro Marine Corps Air Station where he stayed until its closing in 1999. After the base in El Toro closed, he went to Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton where he ended his career in January 2011. He always considered the Marines 'his boys' and was especially proud of son, Eric, becoming a USA Navy Corpsman, a 'Devil Doc'.
Mo was a generous soul who loved to help others. With a mere mention of a need he was there with tools and plan in hand. From shimmying up a flagpole to building garage rafters, if friend or family were in need he would see that it was taken care of.
He was extremely introverted but didn't let it keep him from trying new things. A Harley Davidson enthusiast, he enjoyed many hours of riding with Nora, or Eric. And for several years, one long weekend each summer month was spent hanging with a different kind of leather, camping in Juniper Springs with the Smoky Valley Muzzle Loaders.
Mo liked playing Poker, fishing, tinkering with cars and Harleys. He was a bit of a history buff and loved his country. When he could no longer stand for our National Anthem he would still reverently place his hand over his heart.
He was a fan of NFL Football, favoring the Pittsburgh Steelers and spent many a Sunday cheering and/or jeering his team.
