

Rosalie Carlene Hashem was born on April 13, 1933 in Carthage, Missouri to her parents, Carl and Essie Stearns. Rosalie eventually moved to San Diego, California at the age of 6 and lived with her aunt and uncle. While in high school, Rosalie met the love of her life, Robert Hashem. It was love at first sight for Rosalie and Robert. They got married right after Rosalie finished high school on December 16, 1951. Robert was drafted into the U.S Army, but Rosalie remained a dedicated wife to Robert as he honorably served our country. Rosalie and Robert loved travelling and gambling together. Rosalie had many camping trips in Ensenada with her parents and she enjoyed visiting other countries, such as Japan, with her husband, Robert. Rosalie had a tradition of drinking no less and no more than two martinis every time she was out gambling. She was very active and enjoyed riding her bike out and about. Rosalie worked as a teller for Bank of America in San Diego for 13 years where not only did she always win best dressed employee, but she also experienced three hold ups during her time working at the bank. Rosalie was an animal lover and especially loved cats later in life. Rosalie was an amazing woman who lived quite a life during her time. She will be missed immensely by her family and friends. She was preceded in passing by her husband, Robert Hashem, and her parents, Carl and Essie Stearns. She is survived by her cat, Annie Hashem; cousin, Gina Montijo; nephew, Eric Tweedy Montijo and his children; niece, Lorena Tweedy and her children; and the children of her niece, Veronica Gonzalez, who preceded her in death. A visitation will be held at Miller-Jones Mortuary located at 1501 W. Florida Ave Hemet, CA 92543 on Monday July 10, 2023 from 4PM-8PM; a Rosary will be held at 6PM. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church at 10:30AM. A graveside service will follow the mass at 1PM at Riverside National Cemetery.
