

Retired Air Force Colonel Rosanne Tossing, 74 of Hemet, California died on Wednesday, April 11, 2012, at Devonshire Care Center LLC. She was born Wednesday, November 10, 1937 in Aurora, Illinois, the daughter of the late Edward Tossing and the late Susanne Niersbach Tossing. Col. Tossing resided in Hemet for 17 years. She received her Masters in Nursing from and subsequently taught at Loyola University in Chicago, IL. Col. Tossing went on to serve 24 years in the US Air Force as a nurse officer with many tours in Germany, Iran and other bases throughout the world before retiring. Traveling was one of her greatest passions and she continued taking cruises around the world with her lifelong friend, Gloria Wagers, and other good friends and family until January of 2012. She was a member of The Retired Officers, and The Society Of Retired Air Force Nurses, providing ministry to the elderly, and chairing many charitable events. She loved her cats and her hats. Her family describes her as inspiring, caring, organized, patient with people, fun, kind and generous. Surviving are brother, Edward M. Tossing and his wife, Gaia of Nashville, TN, and three nephews and eight great nieces and nephews.
