

He was born in Yorba Linda, CA on Feb 16, 1935. He was the fourth of five Sons born to the late Leopoldo Galindo Guilin and the late Vicenta (Agundez) Guilin.
Rudy attended Palo Verde High School in Blythe, CA where he Graduated and was co-captain of his football team.
Rudy served in the Korean War in the US Army’s Chemical Corp. After returning home, he attended Palo Verde College and worked on his family’s farm in Blythe, CA.
Rudy moved to the Hemet valley in 1963 with his late wife, Jackie. He began working for the Eastern Municipal Water District as a heavy equipment operator. He retired from EMWD as a Construction Supervisor after 32 years.
Rudy married Hilda (Erwin) Guilin in 1970. They enjoyed weekend getaways to Baja California and the California coast.
Rudy enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He liked fishing and golf and took great pride in his coin and knife collections.
Rudy is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Hilda Guilin, his children, Deborah Frew, Carol Williams, Laurie Schneider, his brothers, Fernando Guilin and Deacon Alfonso Guilin, 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leopoldo and Vicenta Guilin, 2 brothers, Leo and Gilbert Guilin, first wife, Jackie, and son, Rudolf David Guilin.
Rudy was a big man with a big presence, but a quiet sense of humor that always left you thinking. He didn’t need to be loud to be heard. He was strong without force. He had a way of letting you think you figured it out on your own when he had already cleared the path. He was the true definition of a man.
He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic private services will be held at the Miller-Jones Mortuary in Hemet, CA on December 10, 2020. The burial services are open to those who would like to pay their respects and will take place at the Riverside National Cemetery on December 10, 2020 at 2pm. (Please arrive by 1:30) A reception will follow the burial service.
