Missing you.
My little Chavita. I think of you often and how life has changed in several directions for our families. This does not come easy for us who remain on earth. I worry about your mom and how her heart has had an emptiness. I think of your dad and how he is left to remain with only your memories as well. A pain I pray that God would give them comfort for another day. Your children all beautiful and strong. A legacy we are thankful for. I often look back and wish many things did not change. That you would still be with the ones who need and love you forever. My heart and fondest memories are with your parents and cousins. You are remembered each day and I love you. I would like to say sorry to Denise,Salvador Sr,Sal Jr's children, family & friends, for the loss of a wonderful person with a huge heart. Sal was a member of our family also and a great joy to have around, he was considered one of the kids & we loved him. This tragedy has caused an immense pain of the hearts of those who loved him including my daughter Alyssa. If I had a choice I would have given my life so that they could have continued on with theirs and the plans they had for their future. They had a beautiful love for each other. I am so grateful for the gift he left behind my grandchild,Tommy. I am also thankful to God for the time we had with him.

A moment in time.
I recall the day chavita was born. It was May 20 1990. This date marked the birth of salvador islas jr. The second born of my brother sal and Denise. I remember getting a phone call that Denise was in labor. It was a joyous time to celebrate. But as faith would have it, bringing a child into this world is not without pain and not without an enduring good fight. There was complications. First of all. Denise was rushed to the hospital. Not just any hospital but to the Perris hospital. Problem was there was no labor and delivery facility there. During this time she struggled to give birth as chavita was in a breached position. As the family shared this time of worry, we prayed that God was in the mist of this delivery for it would be a miracle that both mother and son would be fine under these circumstances. There was a conversation Denise and I shared after the delivery. She told me besides all the cuss words she was entitled too...:) That there was a specific nurse in the delivery room who recognized that this was not to be a normal delivery but one of great suffering. Well this nurse came close to Denise. Leaned over to her ear and started praying. I believe at this time Denise new this was to become a battle to bring chavita safely into this world against these physical odds. I know in my heart at this very moment in time, in the very ear the nurse prayed in, that prayers of faith and deliverance where brought upon chavita from that very point as he came into this world. Chavita was born and he was delivered breach. It was told within the hospital that a baby boy was born breach and was just fine. And in that emergency room they named chavita the "miracle baby". Some of you may have seen the perris progress paper relating the events that happened that day giving account to the " Miracle baby" He was just fine, strong as ever, and into the arms of those who would love him forever. You see even at this point of his life he gave a grand entrance touching the lives of those who read this story in the paper. Giving hope to those that even in the mist of possible tragedy , he came out a lil conquerer. He was blessed with the power of Gods presence. And before I for I forget lets give Denise some credit for all the pushing. :)
Chavita was raised with unconditional love. You see chava my brother was so deeply in love when he had taken chavita into his arms. He new then that this lil boy was to be his life long partner. His Lil bear. This was the term of enderment, the nickname he gave him. And it really fit him. As chavita grew he would love to make shananigans angry and cry. It was then that I noticed my brother and chavita laughing cause they both thought it was funny to bring her into distress over the most simplest of things. Then chava my brother would lean over and kiss him saying lil bear. And all the while mercedes screaming ""Bruber"". I had the opportunity and honor to watch chavita grow. He was one of the youngest Islas boys who was doted on continuously by the other cousins. There is a very special moment I like to share with you. As chavita grew into a young man, he always seeked his fathers approval. Mercedes and I where reminiscing about fond memories. She shared with me one inparticular that had such a huge impact on her and chavita. There was one moment that chavita, mercedes and chava where at my moms house. They each where lying down next to their dad. One on each side of his arms. Chava kissed each one of them and called them by there names shananigans and lil bear and said I love you. I now in my heart they both wanted time to stop time and remain in their fathers arms forever. As mercedes looked into her brothers eyes she new he felt the same way she did. The eyes expressed the deepest love that words cannot say.
These are the moments in time we treasure. "Unconditional love" it is given to us from our heavenly father. and We possess the power to instill this love into our children and that is what chava and denise did. In the bible the apostle Paul was planning a mission to Spain while preaching about many things he shares from the book of Psalm 127:3 and says, "Sons are a heritage from the LORD, children a reward from him."
Through all the trials , tribulations that all families go through, let us not forget our legacy. "Our children" and how precious they are. Chavita left us his legacy in the form of his precious children.
What better way to honor chavita by keeping his memory alive by continuing to be silly, comical, showing tenderness of love to one another and always keeping the loyalty for being there for one another. Always keeping in mind that we must walk a path of righetousness as God intended us to do so. Let us honor chavita with what he gave us in our own lives, his love, his laughter, his fond memories that he has taken with him, as we have kept while remaining behind.
In closing, Gods word tells us in first Peter 3:18 For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit. Chavita knew the lord at a very young age. He attended a christian school in Perris where he made some of his greatest memories around his cousins. He accepted the lord at a young age and was reassurred everlasting life after death. Once you know the lord he will never leave your side. I believe chavita called had the opportunity to call upon our heavenly father in his last moments and said Im coming home. And the lord as well as his sister Elisa where there to welcome him to everlasting life. I have my own little personal saying that I have always said to my boys, and I would like to leave you with it. Sons of my life and chavita, "You are my first thoughts as I awake to Gods light and my last as I lay my head to slumber. I will forever keep you in my heart.................I love you your Tia Anna Islas Bandoni. With all of our love your cousins Raul, Oscar, Javier, and Alfred.

Its really hard to say goodbye to you Sal,I cryed so much when iI heard you had passed away the first thing that came to my mind was why,you are such a blessing and god put you and your family in my life for a reason your so full of life had a awsome smile laugh and I will always love you this isnt a goodbye this is simply letting you know we will see eachother again iI remember when you were 2 so cute you and Mercedes were climbing up getting topramen with a chair funny as i look at your babies they look just like u all I got to spend time with one of your sons lil Tommy to cute he reminds me of you we had a great day and Denise@ Chava ,Mercedes,Victor ,Mosses,Adrian iI send my love to you all im srry you all have to go through this may god guideyou all and Jesus please take care of Sal for us till we come to join him.I love you Sal forever in my heart.

I love You my Nephew...I miss You and now all i can do is remember. I love my family and all we can do is stick together. I Love You guys so much.

Sal was a good kid always so full of joy. he will be greatly missed, he is resting in heaven and i know we will all meet again one day. untill then rest in paradise Sal Islas.

I remember me and my baby were cruIsIn && we stopped at rotary park to drInk a beer, and we were bumpIng oldIes "the Isley bros" and voyage to atlantIs came on, he got out of our car the Impala and walked In front of the car and started sIngIng to me wIth the beer In hIs rIght hand. He walked to my door and grabbed my hand and pulled me out slowly and was kIssIng my neck sIngIng to me...It was so beautIful and I love & mIss hIm so much :'( I love you sal' babe tIll we meet agaIn In heaven know that my heart belongs to you <3
