Shirley Carlson

Shirley Carlson, 85 of Hemet, California died on Friday, March 25, 2011, at Hemet Valley Medical Center in Hemet, California .Born Monday, July 27, 1925 in Chicago, Illinois, she was the daughter of William Leuffgen and Bessie Evans Leuffgen. She was the wife of Carl Carlson for 68 years. Living in Illinois, she loved to take car rides with Carl in his 1937 convertible to have banana malts. In fact, that tradition continued her entire life with her own kids. There were many vacations taken but her favorite was when she went to Little Paw Paw lake in Michigan. Renting a cottage , swimming and playing with the family , and shopping. She loved to also shop with her close friends Carol and Fretta. Farmers markets in California was a great place to find treasures. There were many days set aside where she and her daughter Beverly enjoyed their time together. Her family describes her as family oriented, beautiful, caring, loving, compassionate and protective.Surviving are her sons, Ronald William Carlson and Robert Gordon Carlson, and daughter Beverly Jean Carlson. Six grand children and 1 great grandchild.Interment will be in Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, CA. in the near future.
