Shirley Waymire

Shirley Waymire, Age 73, went home to be with the Lord & her husband Jim on February 22, 2012. She was surrounded, at passing, by her loving family in Sun City, CA. Shirley was born in Everett, Washington to parents Charles and Dena Wilson. At the age of 17 she was introduced by her cousin to her future husband James. She and James were married in May of 1957. Together they had 2 daughters, Diana and Julia. They raised their daughters in Orange County (Westminster and Garden Grove) and both worked in Santa Ana, CA. She worked for the Santa Ana Unified School District and he worked at SPS Technologies. Upon retiring, they moved to Menifee, CA in August of 2000.

Shirley was sweet and optimistic. Her bubbly & cheerful demeanor attracted many devoted lifelong friends. Being a collector of many things, clowns were by far

her biggest passion. She also collected kitchen fairies and poetry. Shirley especially loved her dog Ebony. Her daughters recall how Shirley enjoyed watching T.V., while eating popcorn, and sipping a glass of chardonnay. After retiring from the Santa Ana Unified School District she found immense gratification in volunteering at the Menifee Valley Medical Ctr. Shirley helped out in the Gift Shop and also worked at the Information Desk. Upon retirement, she and James began attending church at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Menifee where Shirley was a greeter. She was also involved with Health, Hope, & Happiness; the Prayer Chain; and the Joy Club.

Shirley was preceded in death by her loving husband of 48 years, James Raymond Waymire. Shirley is survived by her daughters Diana Figurski (Tony), Julia Brahy (Daniel), and loving canine Ebony. She was a loving grandmother to: Tony, Adam, Megan, Bradley, Cameron and 7 great-grandchildren. She was guardian to siblings Michael Dunster, Sally Briley and niece Pam Lagor. She is also survived by Ginger and Jack Spurgin, her sister/brother-in-law by marriage.
