

Stanford "Bob" Evans, age 90, a thirty year resident of Hemet, CA passed away January 10, 2011. Bob was born in Mackay, Idaho October 8, 1920 and retired from Northrup Corporation, Hawthorne, CA in 1980 where he worked as an electrical engineer. While serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II Bob met and married the love of his life, Louise Nissen, in 1944. Following the war he moved his family to Compton, CA where he worked as an electrician while studying electrical engineering at the University of Southern California.
Bob loved camping and he and Louise were active in the Pioneers Alaskan Camper Club from 1968 until 1995. After retirement he developed an interest in computers and genealogy and was a member of the Hemet Genealogical Computing Group at the time of his death.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Louise of Hemet, CA; daughter Cheryl Doyle of Phoenix, Arizona; sons Robert Evans of Montrose, Colorado and John Evans of Laguna Hills, CA; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
