Velma Rae Marquez

Velma “Tootsie” was born in Flagstaff, AZ to Rosalba Calistro who raised her and her siblings alone. Velma was raised in Pico Rivera, CA. She graduated from El Rancho High School in 1968. In 1967 she met the love of her life, David and in 1970 David and Velma were married. After having their 4 kids in 1984, David and Velma moved their family to Moreno Valley. She continued to work for Bank of America for about 33 years until she retired in 2002 to care for her disabled granddaughter. Velma loved to travel. She enjoyed going on cruises and her yearly trips to Hawaii. Velma will always be remembered as grateful, generous, lovable, kind-hearted and someone who had so much Faith. She is survived by her beloved husband of 51 years, David, her children, Debra (Andy) Garcia of Moreno Valley, Jennifer (Peter) Hatfield of Redondo Beach, Melissa (Ron) Madnick of Moreno Valley, David C. Marquez II of Moreno Valley, Big Brother, Henry (Naomi) Calistro of Rowland Heights, her pride and joys, her grandchildren, Daniel, Victoria, Andy, Mackenzie, Brianna, Makayla, Kaitlynn, Emma, Aria, Addison, Addilyn and a new grand baby due to arrive August 2022, several nieces, nephew and her amazing friends.

Velma was preceded in death by her Mom, Rosalba, Sisters, Sylvia and Margaret, Little Brother, Albert and her beloved fur baby Coco.

Arrangements are being handled by Miller-Jones Mortuary, 23618 Sunnymead Boulevard, Moreno Valley, California. The family will receive friends from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM, Monday, February 7, 2022. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00AM Monday, February 7, 2022, with Interment to follow at Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, CA.
