Vern served as a Glider Mechanic in the Army Air Corps while stationed in England and France during World War II. He was active in the American Legion, the VFW, Senior Olympics, Lawn Bowling, and he really loved to be challenged by a good game of billiards.
Vern is preceded in death by his parents, Guy and Fay Martin; brother, Duane Martin; and son, Jerry Williams.
Vern is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Verna Irene Martin; three daughters and their spouses; a step-daughter and her spouse; 16 grandchildren; and a number of great- grandchildren. Vern was especially close to his brother-in-law and his wife, Chuck and Alta Parson. Vern's sister-in-law, Liz Parson was helpful in his last months.
Vern touched many lives and will be truly missed by all those who were honored to know him and who loved him.
