Wayne Stanley Hervi

Wayne Stanley Hervi 82 of Hemet, California passed away at his home on May 2, 2017. He was born in Cleveland,Ohio on September 9, 1934 to Wayne and Helen Hervi. He attended school in Brooklyn, Ohio. Wayne earned his BA and MA degrees in education at Kent State University Ohio. He taught school in Brooklyn Ohio and it was there he met his wife Mary Jean. They got married and moved across country to California in 1960. In 1972 they moved to Hemet where Wayne was hired as the Assistant Superintendent of Schools and Mary Jean taught school in San Jacinto. They were members of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. Wayne and his wife enjoyed taking cruises, going to the theater, the horse races and visiting the art galleries in Sedona, Arizona. Wayne enjoyed golfing and cheering on his Cleveland Browns. Wayne belonged to the Kiwanis Club and Exchange Club. Wayne is survived by his wife of 57 years, their daughters, Annette (Doug) Weaver and grandson Layne Phariss of Buffalo, Wyoming, Jennifer York and grandson Micah Allegood of Studio City, Ca.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 11, 2017 10:00 AM at Miller-Jones Mortuary, 1501 W. Florida Ave, Hemet, California. A reception immediately following.
