William "Bill" Richard Magruder

Senior Assisted Living facility at the age of 90 years old. He will be sadly missed by his three

children, William S. Magruder (Beth), Daniel L. Magruder (Jackie), and Nancy B. (Magruder)

Canada. Also, by his sister Bernise (Magruder) Wallace, seven grandchildren, four great

grandchildren, and his beloved dog Suzie. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Joan E.

(Marks) Magruder, (2008), his parents Ruby (Gwinner) Magruder, Raymond Magruder, his three

sisters, Betty, Bonnie, Barb, his daughter-in-law Georgiana (Martinez) Magruder and his

son-in-law Alan Canada.

Bill, born in Moline, IL, moved his wife Joan and the three children to Garden Grove, CA in

1964. Bill worked for Smart and Final Corporation, and retired after 20 years. After moving from

Garden Grove, Bill and Joan resided in Canyon Lake, CA, before settling in Sun City, CA.

In his later years, Bill who loved animals, served as a volunteer at the Animal Friends of the

Valleys, a pet shelter in Wildomar, CA, where he was simply known as “Mr. Bill.” He also had a

passion for playing golf, wood-working, and walking his dog.

Bill will be put to rest at the Riverside National Cemetery where he will join his wife Joan. He

was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Navy and received the WWII Victory Ribbon.

Bill will be lovingly missed by all of his family and many friends.
