William “Bill” Burger went home to be with the Lord on May 10, 2024. Bill was born in Culver City, California, on September 10, 1955 to Harold and Ruth Burger. Bill grew up in California and Kansas City, Missouri, where he became a lifelong Kansas City Chiefs fan. Bill graduated from Hemet High School in 1973 and the University of California at Riverside in 1978. In 1976, Bill met Gerri; and they were married for 43 years.
Bill worked for the Automobile Club of Southern California for 35 years as an insurance salesman. In retirement, he traveled the United States with Gerri, and played countless hours of pickleball. Bill was an active member of his community, spending decades coaching baseball, softball, and basketball for a variety of community organizations. Bill was also active in his church, serving as a trustee, Awana leader, and coach.
Bill is survived by his wife Gerri; four children Will, Staci (Jarrod), Michael (Ashley), and Marie; three grandchildren Grace, Eliana, and Judah; brother Randy (Chris); and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his brothers Jimmy and Kenny.
