Bill was born on October 3, 1950, in California to Dr. William and Elizabeth Williams. He grew up alongside his three sisters — Margaret, Patricia, and Shelley — proudly holding the role of the only boy in the family. From an early age, Bill’s quick wit and outgoing personality made him the center of every room he entered.
On June 24, 1972, Bill married the love of his life and forever sweetheart, Betsy. Together they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering devotion. In October of 1976, they welcomed their only child, Karie, who inherited her father’s quick wit and humor.
In 1982, Bill and Betsy made the move from Long Beach to Hemet, California, where they planted deep roots in the community. Alongside his brother-in-law John, Bill helped establish Hi-Tech Security, an alarm systems business that served the area for many years.
Bill had a lifelong passion for classic cars and could often be found restoring his beloved 1957 Chevys and 1955 Ford pickup trucks. He was a proud member of several local car clubs and formed countless friendships through his love of automobiles. Bill never met a stranger — he had a remarkable ability to make people laugh and feel welcome wherever he went.
A devoted Los Angeles Dodgers fan, Bill and Betsy spent many evenings side by side watching every game during baseball season, cheering faithfully for their team.
Above all else, Bill treasured his family. He leaves behind his beloved wife of nearly 54 years, Betsy Williams; his daughter, Karie Van Camp (Mark); his cherished grandchildren, Alyssa (Matt) McInelly, Benjamin (Janessa) Collins, William ( MJ) Collins, Zackary Collins, Scarlett Collins; his great grandsons Zayne and Gabriel McInelly; His sisters, Pat Shumway, Shelley ( Bob) Williams; many nieces and nephews; and countless friends who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
