

Yshmael Martin Garcia Jr., age 86 passed away peacefully on Friday, January 23, 2015 in Hemet CA. He is survived by his caring wife Rebeca Garcia, his daughters Martha Celina Garcia and Cristina Susana Garcia. His sons Yshmael Martin Garcia III and John Henry Garcia. His grandchildren John Henry Garcia, Myranda Elizabeth Garcia, Isabella Gabrielle Garcia, Samantha Cecilia Garcia, and Annabelle Silvia Garcia Cotton.
Yshmael Martin Garcia Jr. was born on June 26, 1928 in Las Cruses, New Mexico to Yshmael Martin Garcia and Tillie Garcia. Upon High School graduation he enlisted in the Army and served in WWII as a Cartographer during his deployment in Germany. Upon the completion of the war he graduated from UCLA with a degree in Physics. After a short stint pursuing his passion of the sciences, influenced by his brother James he and his brother Joseph started Don Martin's a garment company in Los Angeles. He left Don Martin's to establish Henry Fashions manufacturing a woman's design, cut and sewing company. After 30 years in business he transitioned out of manufacturing into Contract sewing for five years. Once he saw the garment industry going off shore he decided to retire.
During his retirement he moved to Winchester CA, where he owned 40 acres. He moved a house on to the empty land and when it burned down he built a new home in its place. Through the contacts he made in the garment industry he worked on the weekends selling clothing at various swap meet locations that he purchased. Finally retiring to his farm at the age of 55 where he pursued the life of a farmer raising cattle, chickens, and growing persimmons. His final years were spent in Hemet California with the love of his life Rebeca.
Yshmael Martin Garcia Jr. was a mentor to many an entrepreneur, and wonderful caring father, and grandfather, as well a beloved Uncle to many nephews and nieces. He was kind, understanding, and loved to recite poetry from memory and tell funny jokes which made everyone laugh. He will be missed by all his family and friends but will live on in our hearts.
