Buddy is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Claire (nee. Gerber), his children, Laurie Schulz (Mark), Steven Schoenfeld (Michele) and Rose Rothe, grandchildren Beverly and Brenda Schoenfeld, Rachel Hernandez (Jason), Taylor Schulz (Andrea), Spencer and Dylan Schulz, and Elyssa and Rebecca Rothe.
Buddy was very successful in 3 distinct professions over his lifespan. He owned a made-to-order women’s wear specialty store, worked as a financial investments broker, and was a representative for Krementz Jewelry. Buddy was a proud veteran of World War II, serving in the Intelligence Services and recipient of numerous awards. Buddy provided strong leadership through devoted service to various community organizations throughout the years. During his 25 year membership at Congregation Beth Israel he was a past President, helped organize temple investments, planned member trips and organized the first fundraising auction. He also served as past Chancellor to the Knights of Pythias where he was a 50 year member, and was active in the Jewish War Veterans, B’nai B’rith and the Democratic Club.
Buddy’s favorite times were spent with his family, especially his 8 grandchildren, watching them progress to adulthood, playing card games and sharing their special celebrations. In the past he enjoyed golf, working on his home and loved socializing with his friends throughout his life.
