Ara Lee Beck

Ara Lee Beck, age 81 of Henderson, Nevada, passed away on Thursday, April 29, 2021. She was born on October 1, 1939 in Kansas City, Missouri to her parents George Duncan and Pearl (Carney) Duncan. Ara Lee grew up in Kansas City and graduated from Southest High School.

Ara Lee married the love of her life, Sidney Beck, on July 12, 1958. They enjoyed 62 wonderful years together. They spent most of their lives in the Kansas City area until 2016 when they moved to San Diego to enjoy the nice weather and then moved to Henderson in 2020 to be closer to family. They were blessed with four children: Dana (Bruce) Hackett, Dan Beck, Tim Beck and Debbie (Dave) Hill. She had six grandchildren: Shannon Hackett, Ben Hackett, Jeff (Lindsey) Beck, Samantha Beck, Duncan Hill and Devin Hill. She also had five great-grandchildren: Dalton, Ayden, Lily, Jordan and Kinsley. She loved her children and grandchildren dearly.

Ara Lee was very meticulous in how she kept her home. She always kept it clean and was the center of family gatherings because of her love to cook and bake for everybody. She had a huge heart and always put everyone else first.

Ara Lee was preceded in death by her father, George Duncan; mother, Pearl Duncan; sister, Rusty Mills, and son, Dan Beck.

She was a loving wife, mom and grandma and will be missed dearly.

I met Ara Lee and Sid when they lived across the street at Auberge in San Diego after they moved here a few years ago. She was a sweet and gentle person and was so proud of her family. She was excited to be moving to Nevada, so that she could spend more time close to her family. I am so sorry for your loss.
