Barry Lee Morris passed on July 31, 2026, at the age of 72. He was born November 5th, 1953, in Rapid City, South Dakota, to Albert Lee Morris, who at the time was serving in the United States Air Force, and Maycel Morris. He was welcomed at home by his two older sisters, Tana and Kaye.
As a son of a US Air Force family, Barry spent the first eight years of his life moving from base to base, one of which included being stationed in Alaska. When his father retired, the family settled in Henderson, Nevada, where Barry would spend the rest of his life.
Henderson, then a small town, was where he enjoyed a happy childhood full of neighborhood adventures and lifelong friendships. He attended Henderson schools and graduated from Basic High School, a tradition shared by his wife and all of their children.
One of Barry's favorite teen memories was seeing the Beatles perform in Las Vegas at the Convention Center in 1964. It was the only time that the band appeared together in Las Vegas. That experience sparked a lifelong passion for music.
Barry became a talented musician and performer, entertaining audiences across Las Vegas and Henderson. He played lead guitar and sang as the lead vocalist for a rock band, the Flashbacks, sharing his love of music for decades. Later in life, he found joy in the ukulele, which he played daily and lovingly taught his grandchildren.
Barry and Sue were married in September 1974 after meeting at the Town House Bar, a place that remained special to them throughout the years. They shared 52 years of marriage, building a life full of love, laughter, and music. Together they raised three children, Andrew, who followed in his father's footsteps as lead guitarist and singer, Benjamin, who with his wife Katrina, built their life in Las Vegas as a businessman, and Shelby, a licensed clinical social worker whose compassion reflects the values she learned at home.
Barry's greatest joys include his five grandchildren: Noah, Isaiah, Micah, Brody, and Kinley. He was affectionately and proudly known as Uncle Barry to countless nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews who adore him.
Barry will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his talent, his laughter, and the kindness he shared with everybody around him.
