Beverly J. Colletti, age 87, of Henderson, Nevada, passed away on Monday, December 7, 2020. She was born on December 12, 1932 at Methodist Hospital in Los Angeles, California, to her parents Clarence and Florine Hadley. Beverly was raised in South Gate, California with her younger brother, Chuck, and two younger sisters, Pat and Carol. she took part in a number of activities as a child. She was a member of Junior Musicians of America, and in her spare time she liked to play her violin.
Beverly graduated from South Gate High School in 1950.
Shortly after high school, Beverly met and married Roy Hambly, Sr. The couple were married for over 30 years. Beverly was blessed with two sons: Roy (aka Bill) and Don. They were also blessed with three grandchildren, Jennifer, Michael and Christine. Later in life, Beverly would re-marry on June 6th, 1987 to John Mathew Colletti in a private ceremony in her son Roy's backyard in West Covina, California. Together the couple would blend their lives and families, and begin an adventure that would span over the next 33 years. Beverly was totally committed to John and maintained traditional ideals about marriage, and accepted those feelings unconditionally.
Beverly was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother; whom enjoyed spending time with her family, bowling, scrapbooking and painting ceramics. She was content to sit quietly alone, enjoying her hobbies all by herself and could often be found just reading about her favorite pastimes.
Beverly was employed for 45 years in total, as an Executive Secretary. She started with an attorney's office then went to the School District of Lynwood, California, and finished her career at St. Rose Delima Hospital, in Henderson, Nevada.
Beverly was an individual who respected and maintained traditional values. Her faith was extremely important to her. Her compassion, consideration and sympathy toward others was evident in her personal beliefs. Beverly was a member of St. Francis of Assisi for 8 years. During that time, she was attending Lifeteen Mass.
Anyone who traveled or went on vacation with Beverly had smooth sailing. It was often taken for granted that she was the trip planner. She would start early and examine all of the possibilities, selecting the best and most effective options. Her favorite vacations included a train trip through Canada, a High Vista camping trip, and a cruise to Mexico.
When Beverly's retirement finally arrived in 2002, she was well prepared. In retirement, she found new pleasure in bowling in three leagues each week, and spending time with her family and poodle, Shadow. Even in retirement, Beverly continued to stay in touch with her old friends while she became friends with Claire Gaudette, Dolores Hambly, Mary Slagle, and Dolores Hauck.
It is said that some people can’t see the forest for the trees. Beverly was able to focus on each individual tree, tending to its needs, thus making the forest stronger as a whole. Beverly was a trustworthy, pragmatic and sympathetic person, the kind of woman to whom everyone was drawn. She was thorough and practical. Beverly Colletti was very literal with her words. You always knew where you stood with Beverly. She will be missed.
