

Born on July 13, 1946, in Jamaica Queens, New York. Bruce grew up with a deep sense of duty and curiosity about the world. After graduating from high school, he attended college studying commercial art. He became quickly bored with this field of study and decided to join the military. In 1967 he proudly joined the U.S. Army, where he served as a helicopter pilot in Vietnan. He later became a Company Commander at Schofield Barracks on Oahu, Hawaii. While serving Bruce was awarded numerous medals including, The National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, RVN Cross of Gallantry with Palm Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Distinguished Flying Cross Medal, Civic Actions Honor Medal 1st Class and the Army Aviator Badge. Just before his deployment in 1968, he married the love of his life, Jane Ellen Dauernheim, on April 28, 1968. Their marriage would span 57 years—marked by love, devotion, partnership, and a deep mutual commitment.
Following his service, Bruce pursued higher education and studied accounting. He graduated from Hofstra University with Honors. He then passed his CPA Exam and became a Certified Public Accountant where he enjoyed a long and respected career before retiring in 2011.
Bruce was a man of quiet strength and a naturally inquisitive mind. He had a lifelong love of science and spent many hours exploring topics that sparked his intellectual curiosity. When he wasn’t reading or thinking deeply, you could find him out on the golf course, working on home improvement projects, or enjoying a bit of luck at the virtual slot machines on his iPad.
Bruce was a patient and loving man who will be greatly missed and was deeply loved by his family and friends. He will be remembered for his quiet humor, generosity, unconditional support and unwavering love for his family. His legacy lives on in the values he instilled, the memories he created, and the lives he touched.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jane Ellen and two loving daughters. His oldest daughter, Michele Weaver; and his granddaughters, Madeline and Makayla of Rock Springs, Wyoming. He is also lovingly remembered by his daughter, Jennifer Maxey, her husband, Terrell, and grandchildren, Kaley and Jaden of Phoenix, Arizona. He is also survived by his three loving sisters Diane Barney, her husband Bob, Linda Koenig, her husband Gary and Robin Adams. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by loving parents Father, Rudy Trenheiser and Mother, Irene Trenheiser.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, August 27, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Palm Mortuary on Boulder Highway in Henderson, Nevada. A military funeral service will follow on Thursday, August 28, 10:40 a.m. at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City, with burial to follow.
