Carolyn Roberta Anderson (Pauschert) was born in Tacoma Washington on January 19, 1940 along with her twin sister Mary Jane. Mom passed away peacefully on January 12, 2022, just 7 days shy of her 82nd birthday. Mom met and married Richard Anderson, our Dad, in 1959 but later divorced in 1982. This union produced three children - Karen (John), James (Tammy) and John (Traci). She has 4 grandchildren - Joshua, Christine, RJ and Jeremiah and 4 great grandchildren - Savannah, Brooke, Lucas & Trevor.
Mom was a homemaker for 63 years; She babysat Joshua & Christine when they were a year old to junior high. Her hobbies were exercising at the YMCA, driving her Dads 64 Dodge Dart to church, Jules of Judah and Treasured Rose; Riding her mountain bike for over 14 years around town to the store and malls. She was remembered as the “bike lady”. We had several friends and family that would let me and my brother know if she was breaking the rules of the road (She did a couple times lol). That bike was her transportation until she could no longer ride, she then graduated to a motorized scooter from 2019 to present.
Mom lived in the same Lakewood home for over 60 years. Her next door neighbor Fayon Billingsley, are the longest Ostrom residents, that we are aware of. A special thank you to all who looked in on Mom over the years. She had her go-to guy Ralph, he always helped her out when in need.
Mom was a fighter, she overcame lung cancer twice (2016, 2019). She later developed COPD and in May 2019 she was diagnosed with CHF. In January 2021, while hospitalized, I was told she had 6 months to live. We immediately put her in hospice, but God had other plans, 8 months later in September, she graduated out of the program! Although she slowed down, she had a heart of gold and lived life the best she could with all her heart. For the last year of her life, she had a special person, Rosie, who took care of her. Knowing Mom was in good hands gave the rest of us peace of mind. Thank you Rosie.
She loved the Lord with all her heart and always had faith for total restoration, her favorite number was 40. Mom loved animals, although she was not able to care for animals in her later years, she enjoyed loving on all of our pets. She will be missed. She was there for prayer when we needed it. She had her connections, her prayer warriors - “When 2 or more are gathered together”. We could always count on her, she gave us some good laughs and had some good cries.
Carolyn is preceded in death by her parents Clark & Mary Pauschert; Brother Buddy & twin sister Mary Jane (Janie). Her little brother Eddie (Terry), is the only surviving sibling and still lives in Washington state.
