Born in Pusan, Korea she was the beloved wife of Thomas Kruger, Jr. for 56 years. Chong met and married Tom after meeting him when he was stationed in the U.S. Army (E5) in South Korea.
Following his discharge in 1968 they moved to Hopkinton, Ma., Tom's hometown, to begin raising a family.
From there they moved, in 1976, to Cape Coral, FL. There Chong would work at Caloosa Elementary School as a food service worker ("lunch lady"). Chong was always loving and affectionate to all the children at Caloosa. She was adored by her co workers, teachers and students as well.
Following her retirement in Cape Coral, Chong moved, along with her husband, Tom and children to Henderson, NV. There she was once again a "lunch lady" for Burkholder Middle School for 15 years. Again she was adored by children, co workers and teachers alike.
Chong's greatest passion was to cook her Korean fried rice, bulgogi and kimbap and watch her family and friends alike enjoy her cooking. It always brough big smiles to her face.
Chong leaves behind her husband, Tom, children; Patricia and Lee, 4 grandchildren; Christian, Blake, Alexi and Adryan, sisters in law and husbands; Judith, Kathy, Susan, Sandra, brothers in law and wives; Kenneth, Gary, and Chris.
