

Daniel Anthony Brinkman, age 81, of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away on Friday, September 10, 2021. He was born an only child on April 10, 1940 in Detroit, Michigan to his parents George Brinkman and Margaret Sweeney. Raised in Detroit, Daniel graduated high school and went on to Enlist in the U.S. Army. Daniel served honorably in the U.S. Army as a medic and as a Practical Nurse, retiring after over 20 years as a Sergeant First Class.
Following his service in the U.S. Army, Daniel continued to work as a nurse, working for many hospitals in the civilian sector Until retiring in 1987.
Daniel met his wife via penpal letters that they would send back and forth to each other, after the finally had the opportunity to meet in person, decided to get married. The couple were married at San Nicolas De Tolentino Church in Cebu City, Philippines on February 14, 1989. Although they met later in life, they we blessed with their daughter.
Daniel was a kind, compassionate and generous man. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who was always at the ready to lend a listening ear, offer sound advice, and words of wisdom. He enjoyed being in nature, fishing; collecting stamps, and listening to his music from the 40's and 50's; particularly Jail House Rock. Although a simple man; Daniel lived life to the fullest, and will truly be missed by all those closest to him.
Daniel was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Nicolasa; daughter, Leshly and her husband John; and his grandchild.
A visitation for Daniel will be held Thursday, September 23, 2021 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM. Funeral services will follow at 10:30 AM both at Palm Boulder Highway Mortuary, 800 South Boulder Highway, Henderson, NV 89015. Daniel will be laid to rest with military honors at 12:00 PM at Southern Nevada Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veteran's Memorial Drive, Boulder City, NV 89005.
