Daniel Steven Jolley, age 33, of Las Vegas, Nevada passed away on Thursday, October 26, 2023. He was born on March 22, 1990 at Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara, California to Steve and Lisa Jolley. There were 18 babies born that day, and Daniel woke up every single one; creating memories from the very beginning! To this day, those at Cottage Hospital surely remember the only baby from that day who woke up the other babies, not just once, but everytime he cried.
Daniel was also very close to his family and did not go anywhere without his sister, Jenifer. Her first day of kindergarten, Daniel cried all day. His mother had to quit her job because he could not be consoled without his sister. Daniel soon became the charmer of his Mommy and Me group with his puppy dog eyes; he was known as the "the Boyfriend".
Daniel moved with his family to Henderson, Nevada in 1995. Growing up, Daniel was very active and formed many friendships that continued into his adulthood. He loved being outside; riding bikes, motorcycles, skateboarding, and rollerblading. He loved the lake and the ocean, fishing, family reunions, and camping. His childhood was filled with sleepovers, camping trips, pool parties, movie matinees and almost everyday at the park across the street.
Daniel was a boy scout for 3 years, and devoted 5 years to earn his black belt in Taekwondo. He earned the principal's award two years in a row for perfect attendance at Sue Morrow Elementary School.
Daniel attended Brown Jr. High School and graduated from Basic High School in 2008. He enjoyed school field trips. football games, dances; and of course was proud to be able to tell his children he helped paint the "B" for Basic on the mountain in the hills of Henderson.
Daniel became an uncle at a young age; he was lovingly nicknamed "Uncle Kracker". He took on a fatherly role with his niece, Evalee, and his nephews: Ethan and Kyler. He continued to nurture those relationships throughout his life.
After graduation, Daniel joined the Union Local 525; following in his dad and his uncle, Don Wood's footsteps. He graduated as a Journeyman and found the love of welding. Daniel worked for Hansen Mechanical with his dad for several years prior to moving to Bombard Mechanical; where he was currently working on the project, Fountainbleu. Daniel often spoke about how connected he felt to his last crew; each and every one of them. He loved all of his union brothers and sisters. Daniel attended union meetings, picnics, and holiday parties with his children. Weeks prior to his passing, Daniel attended the old-timers picnic and was so happy to see old union brothers and sisters he had not seen in years.
Daniel was a proud father of his two children: Brea Lynn and Noah Daniel Jolley; whom he loved to his core. He was always a hands on father: from bathing his children, combing their hair, cooking and playing video games to helping taking care of their dog, Deacon.
Daniel enjoyed life to the fullest. He loved cooking, grilling, supporting his favorite football team; the Colts; and his favorite hockey team, the Golden Knights; as well as, watching scary movies, dancing, water balloon fights, telling jokes, and of course spending time with his family and friends.
Daniel will be remembered for his big heart, his devoted friendships, his funny character, his love for his union brotherhood, his great smile and goofy laugh. But most of all, Daniel will be remembered for always letting others know how special they were in his life. Daniel leaves a piece of him within us all.
Daniel was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Frank Jolley. He is survived by his children: Brea Lynn Jolley and Noah Daniel Jolley; his father, Steve Jolley; his mother, Lisa Jolley; his sister, Jenifer Jolley; his paternal grandmother, Dorothy Jolley; his maternal grandpa, Lawrence Gallegos; maternal grandmother, Lupe Gallegos; the mother of his children, Shayna White; his niece, Evalee Jolley; his nephews: Ethan Jolley and Kyler Sinchak; his previous girlfriend, Krystal Buchholz and her son Eli; and many uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
