Darlene was the daughter of Emma and Earl Ouellette of Burbank, South Dakota. In 1944, her parents moved to Sioux City, Iowa. There she finished school and in 1950, she met her future husband, Donald Dickinson. They were married for 65 years. After her husband retired, they spent the next many years visiting family, friends, and seeing the sites. She had many hobbies; ceramics, crocheting, and needlepoint. Darlene was an avid Atlanta Braves fan and loved the Dallas Cowboys.
She will be missed. Preceded in death by her parents, her husband Donald, stepson Richard Jerome Holman, WO 116 Aviation CO, (Dickinson), granddaughter Allison Lehman, brothers Robert and Donald, sisters Doris, Betty, Dorothy, and Joyce. She is survived by sisters, Karlyn and Karen, her four children, Therese Lehman, Cynthia Bradshaw(husband Donnie), Michael Dickinson, and Patrick Dickinson(companion Paty Torres) grandchildren, Richard Lehman(wife Crystal), Jonathan and Shannon, great grandchildren, Alexis Dobbs(husband Michael) and Austin Lehman, and great great grandson, Nolan Dobbs.
Charities close to Darlene and her husband’s heart were St. Jude and the Veterans organization.
The family would like to extend a special thank you for the care and compassion extended to our beautiful Mother by Nathan Adelson Hospice.
Darlene will be cremated. Services to be announced at a later date.
