David Jack Braucher was born on December 17, 1946, in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, to his mother, Levada, and father James, and passed away on May 20, 2026, in Henderson, Nevada, surrounded by the love of family and friends. Dave will be fondly remembered for his corny jokes, his innocent flirting, his gift of gab, his ability to make friends everywhere he went, his sense of humor, loyalty, and the love he shared with those closest to him.
Dave proudly served in the United States Marine Corps and was a Vietnam War veteran, a part of his life he carried with honor and pride. Following his military service, he continued his dedication to public service as a Nevada Highway Patrol Officer, where he served with commitment until his retirement in December 2002.
Dave enjoyed the simple things that brought him happiness: traveling, watching Survivor, Corvettes, gardening, caring for plants and trees, homemade beef jerky, Johnny Mac’s chicken wingettes (double crispy plain), real estate, and home projects, along with smoking cigars, drinking wine, watching Fox News, and spending time with his friends and family. He deeply loved his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who brought great pride and joy to his life. He also dearly loved his dogs, Sadie and his late dog Zoe, who were part of his heart and home.
But above all else, the greatest love of Dave’s life was his wife, Elaine “Zoogie,” whom he loved with all his heart throughout their life together.
Dave is survived by his wife, Elaine (“Zoogie”); his children, Tracy, Troy, Tangie, and Travis; his daughters-in-law Nicole, Jill, and Jolene; his sons-in-law Randy and Jared; his grandchildren: Anthony, Amber, Audrey, Dustin, Dylan, Kyle (“Boo”), Sarah, Conner, Logan, Easton, Gunner, Chiales, and his namesake Asher David; his great-grandchildren, Keagan and Kasston; his sisters, Dorothy and Pearl; and extended family and cherished friends whose bond with him was so deep, they were truly family in every way that mattered.
Dave will be deeply missed and forever cherished in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 8, 2026, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Funeral services with Law Enforcement Honors will follow at 11:00 am, both at Palm Henderson Mortuary, 800 South Boulder Highway, Henderson, NV 89015
