David Gomez DeArcos, 79, of Henderson, Nevada, passed away peacefully at home on July 4, 2026, after a long illness. He was born in Orange, California, on July 12, 1946, to Guadalupe Martinez DeArcos and Margaret DeArcos, later Margaret Corona.
David grew up in Santa Maria, California and attended Righetti High School. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, David built a career as a contractor, where he was known for his skill, hard work, and dedication. He had a deep appreciation for fine details and applied that same care and precision to all he did. He was a lifetime member of BPOE.
David was a member of Highland Hills Baptist Church. His favorite Scripture was Psalm 23. His faith was a source of comfort and strength. His family takes comfort in knowing that, as a veteran, David passed away on Independence Day — a fitting day for him to enter into peace with our Lord.
David is survived by his beloved wife, Ellen; his sister, Eleanor Lancon of Lompoc, CA; his brother, Benjamin (Benji) Corona of Orcutt, CA; his sister, Marlene Castellanos and her husband, Luis, of Collinsville, TX; his son, David Rudy DeArcos of Nipomo, CA; his daughter, Gina Marie Hall and her husband, Jerry, of Arroyo Grande, CA; his stepdaughter, Brandee Newsom and her husband, Eric, of Henderson, NV; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Guadalupe Martinez DeArcos; his mother, Margaret Corona, formerly Margaret DeArcos; his stepfather, Benjamin Corona; and his sister, Jessica DeArcos Kay.
David will be remembered with love for his service to his country, his years of hard work, his faith, and the life he shared with those who loved him.
“Surely goodness and lovingkindness will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.”
Psalm 23:6
A Military Honors Service will be held on July 23, 2026, at 12:00 PM at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive, Boulder City, Nevada 89005.
