U.S. Air Force Major retired D.L. (Deuber Laird) Maurer passed peacefully at home in Henderson, Nevada on June 18, 2019. As part of the "Greatest Generation" D.L. was a World War II veteran and P38 fighter pilot - flying over 50 plus missions and served in many countries to complete his 25 years of service. D.L. loved his country, his flag and was proud of his military career. He was 96 years old. He was born January 30, 1923 in Hartville, Ohio.
Honoring D.L.'s memory are his wife: Dorothy, children: Linda, Beth, Candace, Jon and James, step-children: Jim, Hal Joe and Jill, 6 grandchildren, 14 step-grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and 9 step-great grandchildren.
D.L. was preceded in death by his wife: Beverly, son: Jeff and granddaughter; Alyssa.
Military services will be held in October at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City, Nevada.
