Donita Bowler Holland peacefully crossed the finish line on June 17, 2024, following a valiant 6 year battle with pancreatic cancer. Donita was the youngest of six children, born August 2, 1953, in Cedar City, Utah, to Donald Bowler and Theda Arlene Blad Bowler. At the age of 10, her family moved from Enterprise, Utah, to Henderson, Nevada, where she graduated with honors from Basic High School in 1971. She attended Dixie Jr. College and ultimately graduated from Idaho State University in 1978 with a degree in dental hygiene earning the distinction of “Outstanding Clinical Hygiene Student”. She spent 40 years working in Henderson as a dental hygienist.
On January 5, 1979, she married the love of her life and best friend whom she referred to as “Stan My Man”. Stanley Louis Holland and Donita were sealed in the St. George LDS Temple and opened their hearts and home welcoming children to their family. They loved being the parents of Joan, Jessica, Bryson, and BreeAnn and cherished the opportunity to be grandparents to their seven grandchildren.
As a faithful life-long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Donita served in many roles and she loved them all, but particularly enjoyed music callings and her associations with the youth. She enjoyed crafting, traveling, and singing. People, places, and experiences were important to her; so much so that “making memories" was her motto –especially with family.
Donita is preceded in death by her husband Stan, parents Don and Theda, siblings Sheldon and Addie. She is survived by her sisters Jerri, Sharma, and Jackie and her children and grandchildren.
Public visitation will be held at 801 Arrowhead Trail, Henderson, Nevada, on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 from 10:30 until 11:45 with the funeral to follow at 12:00 noon. A brief graveside service and interment will take place the following day, July 3, 2024, at the Enterprise, Utah, Cemetery starting at 11:00 am. Donita's funeral will be live streamed on Youtube:
