Dwight Moody Staten

Dwight was born on March 30, 1946 in Los Angeles, California, to Maxine and Moody Staten, the second oldest of 3. Dwight was baptized and raised in the Catholic church and maintained his fellowship at All Saints of Hayward, CA.

Dwight met his wife Ofaanga in Hayward, CA and later moved to Henderson, Nevada to be near his sister Luawan Stump.

Dwight graduated from Washington Preparatory High School and received a sports scholarship to Utah University, which he attended four years and obtained his Bachelor Degree. Dwight later attended Pepperdine University and obtained his Master’s degree in Education.

Dwight career started as a professional football player for the NFL, he played for the 49ers, Rams, Dolphins and Canadians organization. Upon retiring from the NFL, he focused building his family business Executive Staffing Agency that helped minorities (women and people of color) to secure employment opportunities as CFO, CEO, engineer and much more. Later in life Dwight became an educator, entrepreneur and inventor.

Dwight was a long-time member of the Porsche Club, Veterans Affairs, NAACP, and ACLU and his passion was Music (specifically Jazz), Open water Diving, Deep Sea fishing and Porsche Cars.

Dwight is proceeded in death by his mother and father Maxine & Moody Staten, brother Marcus Staten and son Noel Staten.

Dwight is survived by his wife: Ofaanga Staten, Children: Tony Dwight Staten, Eric Staten, Steffany Staten, Devin Staten, Albert Bragg, Heidi Staten, Grandchildren: Jasmin King, Jzon Mclemore, Eric Staten Jr, Dorian Mathews, Kyra Mathews, Prince Staten, Heiress Staten, Judah Staten, Great-Grandchildren: Nadya Mclemore, Mylene King and soon to be baby boy Mclemore, Sister: Luwana Stump, Dwight also leaves behind several step children, nieces and nephews who will miss his presence.

Private services will be held at Palm Mortuaries & Cemeteries 800 South Bolder Highway Henderson, NV 89015.
