

Erma Dean Vanzant, 91, of Boulder City, Nevada, formerly of Yucca Valley and Whittier, California; passed away on Sunday November 28, 2021 at home after a battle with cancer. She was born September 4, 1930 to Fleda Martin Brown and William Dan Brown in Independence, Arkansas.
Erma worked at the May Company in Whitter for 20 years and after retiring she and her husband John moved to Yucca Valley where she loved the clear blue skies, clean air and wildlife. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, who loved her family, her pets, quilting, her garden, feeding the birds, and long rides in the car. Erma was an active member of the United Methodist Church and enjoyed her many friends there. She was a collector of anything made of blue glass as well as stray pets and people.
Erma was preceded in death by her parents: Fleda and Dan Brown; brother, Donald Brown; sister, Ruth Crow; husband of 54 years, John Wright Vanzant; son ,John Wright Vanzant Jr; and great granddaughters: Marissa Fritz and Breanna Heyrend.
She is survived by her sister, Bernice Trammell; daughters: Barbara Fritz, Sharon Vanzant and Leah Roddewig; son-in-law ,Rick Roddewig; 5 grandchildren: Scott Lincoln, David Fritz, Bryan Lynch (Michel), Tanya Fritz and Michael Ward (Jennifer); 9 great grandchildren: Taylor Biernacki (Buddy), Steven Heyrend, Damien Montanez-Ward, Dylan Brossard, Cheyanne Fritz, Nathan Lynch, Karina Lynch, Evan Fritz and Hayden Lincoln; 3 great-great grandchildren: Ariel Jarvis, Sophia Fritz and Miles Biernacki; many nieces and nephews and her sweet cat Emma.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Rose Hills in Whittier, CA.
