

Esther Lucille Barnum Morris was born April 8, 1917 to Warren Edward and Emily Elzicar Barnum in Crawford, Nebraska. She had five brothers and one sister preceding her in death. Esther passed away February 4th at the Rocky Mountain Care Center in Clearfield, Utah and will be buried next to her husband in Boulder City, Nevada.
She graduated from Crawford High School in 1934. On June 24, 1936 she married Francis Harvey Morris. One son, Maynard Blakemore, was born to them on July 26, 1937. The family moved west to Boulder City, Nevada and remained there until the start of WWII when Harvey was called to serve in the Army Air Corps. She then returned to her home town in Crawford, Nebraska and remained there until end of WWII when she joined her husband at Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada. After the war, the family returned to Boulder City and remained there until Harvey was called back into the service again. For the next eighteen years they were stationed in many locations in the United States and Europe. After Harvey’s service commitment ended, they returned again back to Boulder City where she remained. In 2008, she moved to Kaysville, Utah to be close to her son and daughter-in-law.
Esther will be remembered for her loving kindness as a wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a skilled homemaker, wonderful cook, and dedicated gardener.
She was a fifty year member of Eastern Star, a member of the Women’s Club, community club, and Grace Community Church. She was chosen LADY of the YEAR 1985 by the Optimist Club.
She is survived by her son Maynard, two grandsons Alan & Kevin, and Kevin's wife Robyn and their two children Miranda and Jesse.
Graveside services will be held at Boulder City Cemetery at 10:00 am, 9 February, 2012 officiated by Reverend David Gram of Grace Community Church.
