Everett Charles "Fuzzy" Rhoades, 89, passed away peacefully at his Weiser, Idaho home, Sept. 13, 2011, surrounded by family and friends, following a valiant, yet extended battle against cancer. Everett was born Oct. 19, 1921 in Eucha, Okla. He was the seventh of 11 children of Charley and Rose-Mae (Ruggles) Rhoades. Everett married the love of his life and his ultimate partner for 71 years, Myrna Marie (Tosh) Rhoades, Myrna's 18th birthday, April 26, 1940. Everett was proud to serve his country in World War II and served in multiple areas in the South Pacific with the U.S. Army as a cook with a rank of T-5 with the 49th Utility Depot Co., attached to the 6th Army. Everett worked in the plumbing trade in Oklahoma and traveled all over the country working on various jobs until the the family finally settled in Las Vegas in the early 60's. Everett was a proud member of Local 525 Plumbers and Pipefitters Union in Las Vegas until his retirement in 1983. After his retirement, Everett and Myrna moved to Salmon, Idaho for several years, but eventually moved away from Salmon and bought a home in Huntington, Ore., where they would spend their summers, and spend their winters in Las Vegas. Everett and Myrna relocated again in 2008 to a new home built by daughter, Jewell on Mann Creek in Weiser, Idaho. They lived on the ranch with daughter, Mabel and granddaughter, Zane. Both Everett and Myrna truly enjoyed living on the ranch, but were not impressed by the Idaho winters. Everett was an avid fisherman and hunter and loved to fish with family and friends. One of his biggest joys was teaching his grandkids and great-grandkids how to fish. He also loved pheasant hunting with his son and grandsons. Everett was also a great craftsman, gardener and a great yard-saler. He made beautiful barn wood frames and loved to find a bargain at a yard sale and fix it up and turn around and sell it at his own sale. He was extremely proud of his irises and lovely flowers that always adorned his yard. Everett was preceded in death by his parents, Charley and Rose; all of his siblings, Claude, Lloyd, Floyd, Alves, Lee, Violet, Raymond, Luther, Ida Belle and Harold; his son-in-law, Chuck Creigh; and his beautiful wife, Myrna Marie (Tosh) Rhoades.
