

Francis is the first child of Francis Xavier Jacobberger and Patricia Leon Luttmer. He was raised in Salt Lake City, Utah, where he enjoyed his childhood growing up in the Avenues with his younger siblings - Deborah Aplanalp, Josiah Jacobberger (married to Eva Bor) and Dara Haslam (married to Erik Haslam) - and many beloved friends and neighbors.
Upon leaving West High School, he moved to the PNW where he lived with family and friends as he began his apprenticeship in masonry. His maternal grandfather had passed down this skill and Francis fell in love with it from an early age. Francis was a fierce advocate for Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers (BAC) Union members and a dedicated champion for the working people. His tireless commitment to the labor movement will be deeply missed. Francis was a proud member of the BAC for 25 years, beginning his journey in 2001 as an apprentice bricklayer in Seattle with Local 1 Washington.
He married Hilarie Shoemaker in a courthouse elopement in Fauquier County, Virginia on 4 Nov 2004. A year later, they were sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They moved from Salt Lake City to the east coast so that he could grow in his chosen career. They called West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland and Washington State their home as they welcomed four children into their lives - Lily, Phoenix, Mason Rose, and Flora.
After mastering his trade as an accomplished journeyman, he climbed the ranks as a leader in the BAC. In 2008, he was serving as a local Union representative for Local 1 Maryland/Virginia/D.C. He was especially passionate about participating in political efforts to advocate for his fellow union members and worked hard to ensure their safety both physically and financially. His Talents were soon recognized by the International Union (IUBAC), he became an Organizer in 2012 before he returned to the West to serve with distinction as an IU Regional Representative for the West region.
Francis and Hilarie were divorced in 2018 and they both moved to Utah. Francis became engaged to Jessica Nelson of Utah in Dec 2018 and settled in Sandy, Utah. Together they welcomed the arrival of their daughter, Lucy, in Dec 2019.
Francis and Nadine started their relationship in 2020. Franics joined the Catholic Church with his baptism at the Cathedral of Madelin on April 16, 2022, in downtown SLC. Francis and Nadine Jones married on the Oregon Coast, 21 June 2024, becoming a stepfather to her two children, Star and Leland, they resided together in Farmington, Utah until his passing.
He enjoyed spending time outdoors, loved movies - especially Lord of the Rings, Star Wars and Marvel movies, had a big sweet-tooth, love for great restaurants, and traveling.
He was loved deeply by those who knew him as son, brother, father, and friend.
He is survived by his parents, siblings, children, loving family members and so many friends.
