FRANK SIMMONS, Frank Stanley Simmons, 67, passed away on Monday, June 23, 2014 after a short battle with cancer, surrounded by his loving family. Frank was born in New York City on May 24, 1947 and at the age of 17 he joined the United States Marine Corps and saw extensive action in the Vietnam War, retiring in 1984 at the rank of Master Sergeant. After his retirement from the Corps, Frank moved to Southern Nevada and became a valued member of the Henderson Police Department in March of 1986, retiring in January 2005. Frank enjoyed traveling in his Motorhome, motorcycles and most of all, his family. Frank married Brenda on June 10, 1967 in San Diego and together they raised their three children: twins, Frank Jr. and Sarah, age 30 and Richard, age 29, who still reside in Henderson. A service for Frank will be held on July 21, 2014 at 10 a.m., at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City, to remember his life and honor his dedicated service to his country, community and fellow man.
