Franklin Lee Jenkins Sr., age 90, of Golden Valley, Arizona passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. He has been reunited with his beloved wife, Luedith Mary Jenkins; his daughter, Shelia Lynn Thompson; as well as his parents and brother in Heaven.
Born in Tennessee, Frank married Luedith in 1954, and together they raised 10 children. Frank proudly served his country for over 25 years in the United States Air Force, with his family by his side as they traveled the world. After retiring from the military, he devoted much of his time volunteering with the Sheriff's Department, even having a small role as McGruff the Crime Dog.
Frank was a man with a big heart who never met a stranger. His charisma was undeniable—whether he was walking into a room or a store, he could always make a new friend or find a familiar face. He was a man of action, always busy building, fixing, or tending to his garden. His special talent was finding a deal; he was known for his ability to bargain and be frugal, yet always with a smile. Frank was also a very talented painter.
While Frank could be strong and commanding, those who knew him well also saw his softer side. He loved spoiling his grandkids and great-grandkids with candy and small toys, often doing so in secret, much to their delight.
Frank is survived by his nine children: Elizabeth, Lonnie, David, Ronald, Donald, Cathy, Franklin, Rita, and John. His life and legacy will continue to be carried on by his 23 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
A funeral services with full military honors and committal will be held on Thursday, May 15, 2025 beginning at 10:40 AM at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery; 1900 Veterans Memorial, Boulder City, NV 89005. There will also be a gathering at 3967 N Bryce Rd Golden Valley AZ 86413 from 5PM-7PM. Please only send flowers to 3967 N Bryce Rd Golden Valley, AZ 86413.
