Gabriel "Gabby" C. Sison Sr.

Gabriel "Gabby" C. Sison Sr., age 88, of Las Vegas, Nevada passed away on Saturday, January 29, 2022. He was born March 24, 1933 in Rosales, Pangasinan, Philippines to Regina Tabigne Casasiempre and Valentin Emilio Sison. Gabby was raised in Rosales, Pangasinan, Philippines with his two older brothers: Jose and Marco, and two older sisters: Gloria and Benita.

As a child, Gabby loved playing basketball; participating in Rosales United Stars Athletic Club (RUSAC), singing and dancing. In his spare time, like most children he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Gabby graduated from Baguio City High School and went on to continue his education at Manila Central University.

On July 20, 1963, Gabby exchanged wedding vows with Nieves Lobo Basco at a Civil Wedding in Mangatarem, Pangasinan, Philippines. The couple were blessed five children; four sons, Rey, Rodell, Neil, and Gabriel Jr., and one daughter, Regina. As their family grew, they were also blessed with four grandchildren: Nicolo, Ma. Alexandra, Nini Rose, and Gabriel III; and great granddaughter, Sam.

To support his family, Gabby worked for 34 years as a clerk for the Department of Agrarian Reform in the Philippines. When is family relocated to the United States, he worked for another 15 years as a porter in the local casinos, retiring in 2015.

Gabby was a hard working man; and a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, who loved spending time with his family, singing, and dancing. He enjoyed the game of basketball, When he was not playing himself he enjoyed supporting his favorite basketball team, the Los Angeles Lakers. He also enjoyed traveling which was primarily back to the Philippines to spending time with family and friends.

Gabby was a generous person who often wore his heart on his sleeve. He brought joy to all of those around him, and loved to have a good time. He always looked on the bright side of things, and enjoyed sharing his energy and his zest for all of his activities with his friends and family. Gabriel C. Sison Sr. lived life to its fullest and made everyone around him happier just for knowing him. He will be remembered with a smile.

Gabby was preceded in death by his sons: Rodell Basco Sison and Neil Basco Sison; father, Valentin Emilio Sison, mother, Regina Tabigne Casasiempre; and siblings: Dr. Jose "Peping" Sison (Lilies M. Sison); Marco "Marking" Sison (Ligaya R.), and Gloria "Aya" Sison. He is survived by his wife, Nieves Basco Sison; three children: Rey Basco Sison (Gladys), Regina Basco Sison, and Gabriel Basco Sison Jr (Amita Rivera); sister, Dr. Benita "Beny" Sison Manhit (Engr. Pablito); grandchildren: Nicolo Soriano Sison (Angela Pace), Ma. Alexandria Soriano Sison, Nini Rose Soriano Sison, Gabriel Rivera Sison III, and great granddaughter: Summer Callie "SAM" Pace Sison.

A memorial service for Gabby will be held Saturday, February 26, 2022 beginning with a scriptural service at 3:00 PM followed by additional memorial from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Palm Boulder Highway Mortuary, 800 South Boulder Highway, Henderson, NV 89015.
