Gerald Lee Reid

Gerald “Jerry” Lee Reid passed away peacefully on July 23, 2026, at 7:21 a.m. at the age of 86. Jerry will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend.

Jerry was born September 1, 1939, in Lansing, Michigan, to Jack and Helen Reid. He was the second of four children: Barbara, Carolyn, and Mike.

In 1957, when Jerry turned eighteen, he served his country in the United States Air Force as a Medical Service Specialist.

Jerry married his high-school sweetheart, Gail Stokes, in 1960. They went on to raise four children: Dawn, Shane, Shannon, and Brady.

Jerry dedicated his career to working at Southern California Edison, retiring in 1998. After retirement, Jerry and Gail enjoyed traveling across the United States and the world together. Jerry befriended people wherever he went. Jerry was also known for his sense of humor and his propensity for telling tall tales. He had a deep love for fishing, the outdoors, raising livestock, and good conversation.

Jerry was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Gail Reid, and his son, Brady Reid. Jerry is survived by his three siblings, three children, seven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

A service will be held on August 13th, 2026, at 10:40 a.m. at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City, Nevada.
