Harold Koch, aged 76, of Roslindale, MA, passed away peacefully on October 9th, 2025, with his loving wife by his side.
Born on February 1, 1949, in Boston, MA, Harry lived a full and meaningful life built on loyalty, laughter, and love. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during both the Vietnam War and Desert Storm, rising to the rank of Senior Master Sergeant. His dedication, discipline, and sense of duty reflected the core of who he was – steady, strong, and always willing to lend a hand, especially if it involved the use of duct tape.
He is survived by his devoted wife and best friend of 56 years, Patricia Rose (Wheeler), his son Michael and daughter-in-law Kathleen, and his three grandsons: Matthew and his wife Kristie, Zachary and his fiancée Makenna, and Gavin. He was also blessed with twin great-granddaughters, Ivory and Violet, who instantly became the light of his life.
Patricia was everything to Harry, his partner, in every adventure. They loved traveling, spending time at the lake, and spoiling their grandchildren. Their most precious moments were simple, going to a movie every week no matter how bad it was, and enjoying a McDonald’s breakfast every Sunday.
Family was everything to Harry, and he shared a unique bond with each of his grandsons. Matthew followed proudly in his military footsteps, vowing to reach the same rank – just a little quicker. Zack shared his love of golf, spending countless rounds together on the course, with only a few rare days when Grandpa had to admit defeat. And Gavin will forever treasure the hours they spent together at Pinball Wizard, side by side, burning through quarters and collecting tickets as fast as they could.
Right up there with family were his lifelong childhood friends, Paul, Tim, and Bobby, brothers from another mother who remained a constant source of laughter, stories, and mischief throughout the years. Their bond was unbreakable, filled with decades of memories, teasing, and genuine love.
He enjoyed the simple things that made life sweet: an early morning round of golf, an iced cold cup of Dunkin’, and the thrill (and frustration) of watching his beloved Boston sports teams – often at full volume. He never turned down good company, a good story, or a cold Voodoo Ranger.
Those who knew Harry will remember his big heart, quick wit, and deep pride in his family and his country. He lived fully, loved fiercely, and left this world a better place because he was in it.
A celebration of his life will be held on October 24th, 2025, at Palm Mortuary in Henderson, NV. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his memory to Vietnam Veterans of America.
He will be forever missed, always loved, and never forgotten.
