OBITUARY
Ida Lue Miller
June 29, 1933 – December 20, 2020
Ida Miller, age 87, of Henderson, Nevada, passed away on Sunday, December 20, 2020. She was born June 29, 1933 in Okolona, Mississippi to her parents Booker T. LaGrone and Hannah Jane Sykes. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, devoted to her family and her faith.
In her younger years, Ida enjoyed taking care of her brothers and sisters, playing baseball, and jumping rope. In her teenage years, she enjoyed going to the Okolona movie theater and the Aberdeen drive-in on highway 45. Ida also enjoyed cheerleading for Wren High School.
Ida and Webster Miller were wed on October 13th, 1951, and had given birth to five children by 1966. She enjoyed driving the streets of Mississippi in her 1930 Chevy Deluxe and 1958 Buick Roadmaster. When she wasn't singing to Tina Turner or dressing in her classy fashion, Ida had quite a work-life while living in Mississippi. She worked as a caregiver, telephone operator, a sales rep in an antique store, and a proud Boy Scout Den Mother. Ida and Webster moved to Henderson, Nevada in 1966, had 5 more children and built their beautiful home.
Ida was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Webster Miller, and son Charles Miller. She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Webster Miller, Mitchell Miller, Maxine Malone, Margo Miller, Dale Miller, Tracey Miller, Stacie Miller, Matthew Miller, and Mark Miller; grandchildren: Milton Wiggins, Mario Wiggins, Charlin King, Christine Miller, Myron Wiggins, Kyle Miller, Cortny Williams, Renetta Malone; great-grandchildren: Tamara Wiggins, Treyveon Wiggins, Tanaya Wiggins, Alyse King, Alex Wiggins, Tyrae Wiggins, Greyson King, Jeremiah Wiggins, Cassidy King, Savannah King, and Leilani Wiggins; and siblings: Anna Pearl, Booker T, Loraine, Vernell, Sykes, Sammy Lee, and John Thomas.
A visitation for Ida will be held Wednesday, January 20, 2021 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be Thursday, January 21, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, both at Palm Boulder Highway Mortuary, 800 South Boulder Highway, Henderson, NV 89015. Ida will be laid to rest Friday, January 21, 2021 at 12:00 PM at the Southern Nevada Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veteran's Memorial Drive, Boulder City, NV 89005.
Due to COVID-19, government restrictions will be in place, and all guests in attendance must wear a mask.

I remember the summers that my aunt came to visit and mother and I would take her shopping with us......Aunt Ida enjoyed going to the mall" to look at all the pretty things " is what she said...She was a very sweet and thoughtful aunt. I shall miss her.
