Irene Amy Nakiso Sua

Irene Amy Nakiso Sua, age 60, of Henderson, Nevada, was called to Heaven on Friday, March 22, 2024 in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was born on June 6, 1963 in Honolulu, Hawaii to her parents Elmer Sama Nakiso and Amu'ula Nakiso (Dole).

Irene was an encouraging wife, an extraordinary mother, a phenomenal grandmother, an incredible sister, an awe-inspiring aunty, and an exceptional human being, loved and admired by all.

For all who knew Irene, she was full of compassion, joy, light, and happiness. We encourage you to embrace Irene’s personality and wear bright, colorful attire or island-wear for all services and events.

Irene was preceded in death by her parents: Elmer Sama Nakiso and Amy Amu'ula Nakiso; and two siblings: Elmer Nakiso and Piilani Nakiso. She is survived by her husband; Peni Mene Sua; her children: Marcus Chapman (Dawn Kuo) and Caress Baltimore; her siblings: Piilani Alaimaleata (Leuila), Sama Nakiso (Maria), Theresa McMoore (Henry), Siligi Vaapuu (Henry), *Fred Evalu (Halaevalu), and *Dorcus Ili (Pastor Anetere’a); her grandchildren: Dresden, Velise, and Dorian; and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A Celebration of Life for Irene will be held Sunday, April 14, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Funeral services will be Monday, April 15, 2024 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM, both at New Song Church, 1291 Cornet St, Henderson, NV 89052. Irene will be laid to rest with military honors at 1:20 PM at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Dr, Boulder City, NV 89005.
